If one is going to experience shock loss, it will occur only in the first several weeks post op. Therefore any loss or thinning at the 2.5 months mark is entirely unrelated to shock loss. In your particular situation, shock loss it not probable. After performing hundreds of FIT cases, we are only aware of 2 instances of shock loss in the donor area. Considering the number of grafts you received and the time interval at which the sparseness became apparent, I do not believe you are experiencing shock. In addition, miniaturization in this part of the scalp is inconsistent with male pattern baldness.
It may be that the hairs in your donor lay less optimally due to the strip. Or you may have experienced some minute shedding after the procedure that you are only noticing now (although I doubt this is the case). More than likely you are simply scrutinizing that area more so now.
The result of a HT will progress over the course of a year so it is premature to stress. The area will fill in as the grafts grow. You need to give it time. |

In the bad old days of plug HTs, it was important that patients were kept in the dark about recovery time of surgery and the aesthetic results. The reason was simple: if a patient was fully informed they would be less likely to so the surgery.
Follicular Unit Strip surgery was an improvement in the field but there can still, even now, be complications with type of work particularly over multiple sessions.
Now is beginning of the FIT era and I believe the virtues of this method may largely redeem the industry. I am happy that patient can witness the truth about the technique on this boards and contribute there stories.

Absolutely! The Belgium office currently offers FIT mega sessions.
It took 5 years for FIT to get to the level where it is today. Dr. Cole would not allow just any doctor to utilized the technique unless the results where up to his very high standards. Patrick Mwamba handles surgery in Belgium. He approaches FIT and hair restoration with the same passion tenancy as Dr. Cole and learned all aspects of HT from Dr. Cole. Having worked as a tech for Dr. Cole for years as they develop FIT, he has an expert level in every aspect of HT and has quite probably placed more grafts and any person in the world. You will not find a more caring, proficient, or intuitive physician than Dr. Mwamba.
