I am a 30 year old police officer, no quite sure on the lingo of hair loss, but I feel it affects my life and job every day. I would say that I am a class 3, I have the two car garage and a bit of a horse shoe on the top but it is still thick enough to hide. I take propecia, rogaine and use toppik every day. I have consulted with bosley (who blows) and Dr. Leonard who seemed good and I have seen his work only on one person (which looked good). I wanted to know what I am looking at price wise and graft wise, to have my hair line thickened up and possibly filled up in the crown. I am also wondering about some other doctors that have done good work because I am willing to travel, oh ya one other thing........ I am in the publics eye every single day, so how long will I need for recovery so it wont be noticable? and this picture is not me....... but this is about the stage I am in http://k43.pbase.com/u5/dpitron/large/875252.1010192_IMG.jpg
thanks, self esteem issues |

Does smoking cause hair loss? My hairs are thinning and its looking like rubbish.
Typical “male pattern baldness” is largely determined by our genes. To learn more about the causes of hair loss, visit the Hair Loss Learning Center.
But it is possible that smoking could play a small role in accelorating hair loss by restricting the [...] |

Attached are photos of my scalp with (and without) the sketch that I provided during the consultation. The area inside the sketch (for the most part) has hair but it is either falling out or it is miniaturized (or both). Since my hair is blonde (and thinning) it is difficult to even see hair in certain areas because the camera light passes right thru it. But my initial consultation revealed that I probably have insufficient body hair to completely restore my hair (the crown in particular). Realizing this set-back, I re-evaluated my goals and figured I'd shoot for something that I thought Dr. Cole could do. Also, I thought that an in person review of my case would reveal what my real possibilities are. That's when I decided to shoot for a hair line that is consistent with how everyone remembers me before I picked up the razor. However, I don't really intend to let the hair grow (combing length) again until I am confident that I can achieve an attractive look with hair. Not sure when that will be but I'm OK with my bald self (for now). I'll just take it slow and accomplish my goals little by little. Baby steps as they say... |

Euro,
I believe his previous doctor actually is out of business.
We had discussed a second session with the patient to FIT-out some plugs but we have yet to nail down a day. The procedure will be a routine single-day session.
Although the plugs are still visible in areas of the photos, the new work largely conceals the problem. Fair hair on fair skin is forgiving with plug work, and patient's new hair style helps to cover up.
He is 80% there. Time for FIT. |

Sure. Below is a photo of a temple point rebuild. This was done with BHT out of necessity but the same effect can be achieved with scalp hair (as would likely be appropriate for your case).
Here is a related link on the subject that you may find interesting as well: http://www.forhair.com/hairtransplant/viewtopic.php?t=1130 |

I agree it is strange, particularly if many people report this. All I can say is that it deserves further attention since we do not currently have an explanation. |

My hairline has begun receding. I started taking Propecia about a year ago and since then the hair loss has stopped. Is there any type of transplant that can be done to restore the hair on my temples?
I’m glad to hear that Propecia |

What makes a transplanted hairline look authentic? Well, one could write an entire book on the subject. On a basic level, the frontal hairline should be a soft transitional zone of single hair grafts between the bald forehead and the denser population of hair behind it. The very leading edge of the hairline must be soft, irregular, and ill-defined. Since human beings tend to create patterns when perform repetitious tasks, it might be said that not only should the hairline be made irregular, it should be made |
