I'm currently 31, and for the past five years I've noticed that my hairline has been receading in the corners but also in the center of my front hair line. This is discouraging to me because I work in the plastic surgery industry and am in front of near perfected individuals all the time and have felt self confident about this issue. After much research, I felt comfortable in choosing Dr. Paul Rose of Tampa FL, not because he was close in proximity to where I live, but because my other surgeons have gone to him and trust him to be the best.
I had my procedure performed on Dec. 20, 2006, just two days ago and am very happy with the results and quick recovery time thus far. The staff was fantastic and made me feel very comfortable. I was weary about being awake during the procedure, but it was 99.5% pain free. The staff and doctor work well together and everyone had excellent follow up skills. I needed about 1,082 grafts to restore a widows peak and fill in my right temple which had receaded the most. I'm very happy so far and will post pics. |

I started noticing my hair loss at age 22. Almost immediately I tried Rogaine but it didn't do any good. I went on and off with Propecia as well. By my early 30s I had lost quite a bit of hair. I went to at least 3 different consultations, and the only thing that held me back was the cost. When that was resolved, I did more research and found who I believed to be the best person for the job - Dr. Jerry Cooley. |

Still with all of these blessings, I am consumed with displeasure about myself and how I look because of my hair. I am also a twin, you'd you believe that my twin has had only marginal hair loss from a receding hairline. . |

Dear Dr. Rassman,
What are some possible contraindications in a strip surgery?
Also, is there any difference in the end cosmetic quality between FUE and strip? For example, would there be any difference in transplanted densities between the two?
Finally, if I were to get an FUE procedure done, would I most likely be able to shave my [...]

Hello Dr. Rassman, and thanks for your continuing work.
My “shedding” and permanent hair loss started in my early teens. Within about 5 years, my hair went from shiny, heavy wavy hair to coarse, brittle, curly hair (to this day). Everyone and my own mother too thought it was a perm.
What would account for [...]

You recently responded to a question on the balding blog that FUE will soon incorperate robotics. I’m trying to picture how this would work…. Will patients be required to wear a certain helmet of some sort so that their head remains completely still? Do you think that general anesthesia and paralysis would be necessary?
As [...]

Hi!
Do you think that it is common that young and famous persons take propecia prior to any experience of hairloss?
The reason for my question is that I am so astonished that rather young people in hollywood (say between 20-40 years), all seem to have a full head of hair! I cannot even come up with [...]
